Guitar Rocks Ashford is an independent guitar school founded by Paul Andrews.
The school began in 2009 as Paul Andrews Guitar Tuition, teaching from a small room in Paul’s home. In 2011, the school moved into its current commercial location in Ashford town centre.
The school later became G4 Guitar Ashford and spent more than a decade as part of the G4 Guitar network.
In September 2026, the school began a new chapter as Guitar Rocks Ashford — giving us the freedom to develop our own identity, resources and student experience while continuing to provide structured, high-quality guitar tuition.
Today, Guitar Rocks helps children, teenagers and adults build confidence, develop real musical skills and, most importantly, enjoy playing guitar.
At Guitar Rocks, we believe students make the best progress when lessons are structured, supportive and fun.
Our teaching is built around the 7 Essential Guitar Skills — Picking, Chords, Arpeggios, Scales, Rhythm, Notes & Reading and Aural.
Students follow a clear step-by-step programme, using checklists and milestones to help them see their progress and stay motivated.
Guitar Rocks currently uses the G4 Guitar Method as part of our teaching while we continue developing our own Guitar Rocks programme and resources.
The goal is simple: to help every student develop the skills, confidence and independence to become a lifelong guitar player.
Paul Andrews has been teaching guitar for over 20 years and has taught thousands of lessons to students of all ages.
He has taught guitar in a number of state and private schools and has spent more than 15 years building and running his own guitar school in Ashford.
Paul is also the founder of the Beginner Guitar Academy, host of the Beginner Guitar Academy Podcast, and author of Learn to Play Electric Guitar.
His teaching philosophy is simple: guitar lessons should be structured enough to help students make real progress, but fun enough that they actually want to keep playing.
